Entertainment & Post Race Activities

· Hot Food & Beverages for purchase: Beer Garden featuring festive beverages including Deschutes Brewery seasonal ales and a coffee cart. There will be post-race snack for participants and a variety of food selections to purchase, including Hawaiian noodles and dishes, Philly Cheese steaks, soups & sandwiches, hamburgers & hot dogs, fish & chips and more.

Bring your bikes, trikes, strollers, and wagons decorated for the Holiday season! Prize will be given for the best decorated ride! Please, no battery-operated or motorized vehicles.

About the Event

Winter Wonderland of Lights Run/Walk is a wonderful chance for family members to enjoy the “Largest Holiday Light Show West of the Mississippi” during a healthy, festive Thanksgiving week outing. One, two or three trips around the track at Portland International Raceway during the 22nd annual Jubitz Winter Wonderland – Powered by Comcast will delight young and old with glimmers and glows!

Since 1993, a journey through the Winter Wonderland of Lights has been a Holiday tradition for many families, friends, and social organizations to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. Traditional favorite light displays include 12 Days of Christmas, Santa jumping down an 84 foot ski slope, reindeer flying over the race track, and the vivid color of the giant poinsettia arch.

Participants can enjoy the most spectacular light show in the region, viewing over 250 colorful light set pieces and many fully animated scenes as they run or walk through the Winter Wonderland of Lights.

Race Day Packet Pickup is held at on-site at PIR (Portland International Raceway) beginning at 3:00 pm and will end 15 min prior to the start of the race at 4:45 pm.

Details

START AND FINISH
Run or Walk after dark on the PIR Race Track through the Winter Wonderland of Lights, which spans over 1.6 miles of the 2-Mile loop. The course is totally flat – no hills! Strollers, wagons, & tricycles are encouraged to help make this a family fun event. We request that all walkers, strollers, wagons, tricycles, & parents assisting children stay as far right of the track as possible so the competitive runners can run unimpeded. Participants competing in the 4-Mile (two loops) will receive a 2-mile split time and 6-Mile (three loops) will receive 2-mile & 4-mile split times. All participants MUST complete the event no later than 6:55pm (a 19:10 min / mile pace) No cars will be allowed through the lights 5:00pm – 7:00pm on race evening.

ENTRY FEES (includes: Long Sleeved T-shirt (adults) or short sleeved T-shirt (Kids 6-12), Finish Line Food, MYLAPS timing (NO ON-SITE AWARDS) and lots of fun)

* SHIRTS: T-shirts will be ordered on 11/15, therefore anyone registering after 11/15 may not receive a shirt on race day, or may not receive a desired shirt size. Shirts for those registering after 11/15 will be distributed after the race. Your participant tag/label will be indicated as yellow.

Portland International Raceway Liability requirement: Only those with a race bib and signed waiver will be allowed on the track during the race. If you have a family member that has not registered, and is not wearing a bib, they will not be allowed to enter the start line area. Bib’s must be worn visibly on your front.

TIMING
Timing will be provided by AA Sports using the MYLAPS Chip on the Bib Timing System. Chips will be located on the back of the race bib. Leave the Timing Chip on the bib and DO NOT CRUMBLE THE BIB to receive full results.

RESULTS/AWARDS
To help keep the festivities going, we have elected to not do an awards ceremony. Award certificates will be available online to download (post race) with individual result/place. Individual Result Divisions: 12 years of Age and under, 13 to 15, 16 to 19, then 5 year age groups to 70 Years of Age and Over.

Portland International Raceway is within the city limits of the City of Portland and is located approximately 6 miles north of Downtown Portland or 3 miles south of Downtown Vancouver just off the I-5 Freeway (exit 306-B).

NOTE: Consider taking the MAX directly to PIR! It is less than a 1 mile walk from the Max Station to the registration area. Please check the MAX Lightrail schedule for final arrival & depature times going to your destination. The website is www.trimet.org/max
