Race Distances: 2-Miles (1 loop), 4-Miles (2 loops) and 6-Miles (3 loops) for adults and youth ages 18 and under; Lil Elves Parade for kids 12 years of age and under.
If a child who is 12 and under wants to participate in one of the timed races, they will need to register for a Youth entry for the distance they want to race. A Lil’ Elves entry is for race bib, Lil’ Elves parade participation and ability to go on the track with their family. Lil’ Elves entry does not include a timing chip or event shirt. Lil’ Elves shirts are available for separate purchase for $10 (These are different from the long-sleeve Winter Wonderland of Lights event shirts.)
For safety/liability reasons, PIR requires that anyone who will be on the track during this event needs to have signed a waiver or have a waiver signed for them by a parent/guardian (in the case of anyone under 18 years of age). For this reason, we have the $5 Lil’ Elves parade entry – this allows little ones who are accompanying their parents (not “racing”) to be on the track, on foot, in a stroller, on a bike, etc. The entry provides a numbered race bib, which inindicates a waiver has been signed.
If a child under 18 years of age

START AND FINISH
Run or Walk after dark on the PIR Race Track through the Winter Wonderland of Lights, which spans over 1.6 miles of the 2-Mile loop. The course is totally flat – no hills! Strollers, wagons, bikes & trikes are encouraged to help make this a family-friendly, fun event. Note: everyone on the track needs to have signed a waiver and received a race bib. We request that all walkers, strollers, wagons, bikes, trikes & parents assisting children stay as far to the right of the track as possible so the competitive runners can run unimpeded. Participants competing in the 4-Mile (two loops) will receive a 2-mile split time and 6-Mile (three loops) will receive 2-mile & 4-mile split times. All participants MUST complete the event no later than 6:55 pm (a 19:10 min/mile pace). No cars will be allowed through the lights/on the track between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on race evening.

Portland International Raceway Liability requirement:
Only those with a race bib and signed waiver will be allowed on the track during the race. If you have a family member who is not registered for a timed race, and is not wearing a bib, they will not be allowed to enter the track or the start line area. Bibs must be worn and visible on your front. Children 9 and under who are not participating in one of the 2, 4, or 6 mile races will need to register for the Lil’ Elves parade for $5. This will get them a bib and they will then be allowed out on the track with their family. Lil’ Elves registration does not include a shirt. A Lil’ Elves shirt may be purchased separately for $10.
Timing will be provided by AA Sports using the MYLAPS Chip on the Bib Timing System. Chips will be located on the back of the race bib. Leave the Timing Chip on the bib and DO NOT CRUMBLE THE BIB, to ensure that you receive complete results.
To help keep the festivities humming, we have elected to not do an awards ceremony. Award certificates will be available online to download (post race) with individual result/place. Individual Result Divisions: 12 years of Age and under, 13 to 15, 16 to 19, then 5 year age groups to 70 Years of Age and Over.
